The D1.5 Report, which relates to the WP1 of the FERTIMANURE project - in particular Task 1.5 Capitalisation of relevant projects results - was developed by the Leitat Technological Centre in Barcelona.

The centre aims to identify on-going and completed manure-related projects in the fields of nutrient recycling, manure management, bio-based fertilisers, and dissemination. For this report a database of a total 163 projects with relevance for the FERTIMANURE framework was elaborated in collaboration with the European Sustainable Phosphorous Platform (ESPP) database and the Biorefine Cluster Europe.

Detailed information about on-going and completed projects was gathered and each project grouped by thematic area and main objective within a range of categories.

These categories were then used to generate a word cloud. In addition, data analysis was developed to obtain relevant results such as diversity of project or budget. Leitat then selected, along with the other FERTIMANURE partners, the 5 most relevant projects, in order to organise meetings with their coordinators.

These meetings will have the objective of taking advantage of all the previous work done in the field of nutrient recycling and manure management, fertilisation using BBFs, or dissemination. The objectives of this work were basically to ascertain the challenges identified, learn from them, and avoid similar problems within the framework of the FERTIMANURE project,  identify the most relevant results in order to avoid overlaps and take advantage of the results addressed by FERTIMANURE and go beyond, reveal potential synergies between FERTIMANURE and on-going projects, and monitor project results.

Leitat is one of FERTIMANURE Project Partner and is a Technological Centre specialised in production technologies and developing R&D activities in the areas of engineering, material science, the environment, biotechnologies, and renewable energies. It is one of the five Technological Centres accredited by the Regional Government of Catalonia and is a FERTIMANURE partner.   Biorefine Cluster Europe interconnects projects and people within the domain of biobased resource recovery, striving to contribute towards more sustainable resource management within the framework of circular economy systems.
